A TYPICAL WEDDING IN LAKE BLED To give you an idea of how your wedding might unfold let us give you an impression of a typical Lake Bled wedding. Once you have decided that we are to organize your wedding we will be in close contact ensuring your requirements are met. This contact will continue up to the day of your wedding, and on your wedding day one of our team will act as your personal guide responsible for ensuring your day runs smoothly. Before the day of the ceremony, we will meet with you to finalize arrangements after which we will take the bride to the hairdresser for a trial styling and makeup session. On your wedding day, the bride and her attendants are escorted to the hairdressers for hairstyling and make-up. Flowers are delivered to the hotel before the bride and her father are carried by horse and carriage to the registry office, where the groom and the guests are waiting. The civil service is hold in the Registry Office overlooking the lake, followed by a short photo session with views of the lake and castle. You then board the horse and carriage and are driven around the lake to Vila Bled where the pletna waits to row you and your guests to the island church. By tradition, the groom carries his bride up the 99 steps to the church with encouragement from your guests. After a short break for the groom to catch his breath you enter St Mary's Church for the Catholic or Protestant ceremony accompanied by organist and soloist. After making your vows your first act as husband and wife is to perform the local bell ringing tradition to bring good fortune to your marriage. Outside and overlooking the lake, you have a longer photo session with your family and guests before making the sparkling wine toast. Afterwards you return to the pletna and are rowed to the lakeside for your reception. Of course, this is only an example. It is your wedding day and so you will decide which of our offers to choose, which extras you wish to have, and the order of activities on the day. You decide. We make it happen.
